Winter Fire presents Somebody that I used to know

Last February 17 held the first Nugen Winter Fire of the year entitled, “Somebody That I Used to Know”. As it can be described, it was an overflowing cup of success. At least a couple of hundred of Nugens attended and got the honor to hear God’s message.

Initially, guessing what the topic will be all about basing on the title itself pops up the thought of hearing series of lecture tackling more about the love-life bandwagon in line with the Valentine craze of February. And it turned out that it is more about self-check messages triggering to update our current status with the Lord.

From time to time, we, especially those who are in a relationship, tend to consume most of our thoughts on the status we share with the “somebody” who gives us the sweet tingling fuzzy feeling. And the Winter Fire was able to knock on our hearts and minds telling us that the moment is the perfect time to check each and everyone’s status towards God.

The message imparted to us was that God is capable to disremember those who bring Him so much pain; those who don’t seek for forgiveness and repentance. Sister Sheena raised the question, “Are you somebody God used to know?” This was the same question I became wary of. It came to me that making God forget me is the least thing I ever wanted to happen. Getting to the point when God won’t be hearing me any longer is not on my list. Sister Sheena together with Sister Wei has reiterated that it’s time for us to get up and be noticed. I shouldn't be waiting for the tragic moment- God forgetting my name- before I make a show off.

God is not to be called a “somebody”. But most unfortunately, for some, they have come to the point considering God as somebody they used to know. Each and every one of us is a candidate for losing sight of God so we must keep covering the fire within us and don’t ever let it be blown.

Remember that no one could ever exceed His love for us. No matter how great we think our boyfriends and girlfriends love us, He loves us more. Rather wasting our time with people who turn their backs from us, who break promises and leave us in pain, we should be spending time with Jesus whose promises are always kept, whose love is unconditional and forever.

The exhilarating jamming session, fun ice-breaker, revered preaching, and scrumptious dinner all funneled to the bottom line: If you feel that He is not hearing you, you should strive getting the spotlight.  Always pray and act like a child convincing the Father, so He may notice us, hear us, recall our names and remember us as His children.
